The King's Burial Chamber

Maybe lost in the desert, under an ancient barrow in the fields or in a city Mausoleum, this tomb honors a long forgotten ruler protected by loyal followers even in death. Add a boss to the final chamber or just use this map to for a encounter with a few battles and a treasure chamber to finish.

The King's Burial Chamber
  1. Entrance Hall. Stairs descend into the subterranean atrium. Walls of carved sandstone blocks shape the room. A pair of bronze double doors stands in the north wall. Around the walls are carvings of waves, fire, and wind patterns.
  2. Corridor. A torchlit corridor with four side passages leading off it, and a staircase leading down into the darkness.
  3. Crypts. Four near-identical crypts. Probably for the elite guard for the owner of the tomb. Each room has a sarcophagus made of stone with a simple carving of a figure on top. On the wall is hung a shield, a spear, and a sword. One or more of the crypts holds a Ghost that attacks if their sarcophagus is opened.
  4. The Feasting Hall. A huge table is set for a feast. At one end sits an extravagant throne for the head of the table. Lining the walls are six statues of mighty warriors. Each one wears a different but equally terrifying grimace of anger. One of them is a Helmed Horror which attacks when the room is disturbed.
  5. Fake treasure room A. This room contains chests, jars, etc. that contain finery and simple trinkets. There are also chests with fake gold pieces. A secret door is hidden in the north wall.
  6. Fake treasure room B. Same as 5, but without the secret door. A family of Poisonous Snake's have set up home in here.
  7. Trapped Corridor. This wide corridor has sturdy double doors at each end. Two spiked pit traps are built into the slabbed flooring. A zigzag path can be taken to avoid them.
  8. Burial Chamber. A huge sarcophagus sits on top of a large dais. The casket is covered in faded paint and gold leaf. Two large statues of animalistic guards (dragon faces with human bodies) flank the sarcophagus. A secret door is hidden in the west wall; it is activated by a loose step at the back of the dais.
  9. The real treasure room. This natural chamber is filled with chests and jars that contain the real wealth of the buried king.
