The Mushroom Cave
An underground stream runs through this cave system, inhabited by the Myconid Mushroom folk.

An underground stream runs through this cave system, inhabited by the Myconid Mushroom folk. Use this for a chance encounter in the forest or underground.

- A rocky cavern. An underground stream emerges from a crack in the north and disappears into a narrow fissure to the south.
- On the east side of this chamber runs an underground stream. On the west, large fungus and mushrooms sprout from the ground and wall. They emit a faint blue/white light. This acts as the entryway to the Myconid Colony.
- The Myconid Gathering Circle. A ring of pointed stones arranged in a rough circle. The area is lit by the same blue/white glow from embedded fungus.
- The feeding area. Piles of detritus and humus lay along the wall. Myconids of all sizes are embedded in the earth feeding.
- An empty chamber.
- The resting chamber. Alcoves line the walls, each with a supply of humus to bed down in.
- A narrow walkway heads across a deep chasm. The natural stone bridge spans the deep drop. Water drips from the ceiling making the bridge slick with water. The chasm beneath darkens into an abyss too deep to see. Merrow's live in the water and emerge when they smell meat, using harpoons to pull PCs off the bridge
- A cave chamber. A large boulder has fallen and a pile of rocks is blocking the exit. This room is blockaded from both sides.
- A natural druid’s shrine. A simple altar set against the back wall is adorned with natural offerings of flowers and bones. The walls are hand-painted with scenes of humans running scared from beasts, such as bears, owlbears, and giant birds.
- This corridor is blocked at the entrance by a pile of rocky debris. Halfway down the corridor, a tripwire trap is placed to trigger a trap which releases a rockfall from either side of the corridor where high chambers release piles of rocks onto characters below.
- A rocky shore to a 5' wide underground stream. The stream disappears into a hole in the rocks at the southern wall. The shore line next to the stream is loose and unstable and could collapse. A simple wooden bridge is laid across the stream to the far side.
- This cave entrance is broken by a stream running across the chamber. To the left, a small bridge crosses the stream to another shoreline. To the right, a bank disappears into the dark beyond.
